Very, very awesome.
Sorry about my mic levels, I'll look to fixing that in future.
Luck!Harry was the funniest part of that movie, seriously.
I happened to watch Order of the Phoenix yesterday, and unless I somehow missed it, I'm pretty sure there's no "Remember my last" mention. The Dursleys freak out a bit and fuss at Harry, and the howler that arrives is from the Ministry telling him he's expelled. Nothing from Dumbledore at all.
Now that's just foolishness that they left out the Petunia scene, then, unless they're just going to ignore it totally. Lame. That's vital to Sevly, and I'll cry if they leave THAT out.
I just popped in my DVD, and you're absolutely right; the last you see of that scene is Vernon saying "JUSTICE" to Harry about being expelled, and then they move on.

First of all, I'd like to say that even though this is only the second Made of Fail I've listened to, I feel that I will definitely be tuning in for more. Your discussions are witty, funny, and thought-provoking. I was particularly fascinated by your analysis of Narcissa Malfoy; while I had picked up on the subtext character's love for her son overruling her fear of Voldemort, the way you described her struggle and characterization really made me apprechiate the character much more. I'm very sorry you did not enjoy the "Spinner's End" scene-- I did immensely, and thought Helen McCroy (?) was a good actress, who for some reason didn't come of right to me (though now I understand partly why!)
There's only two real points I have to share: 1) Everyone seems to be very taken aback by Alan Rickman's non-explosive interpretation of the hill scene. Am I the only one who was disapointed by his tepid performance at the Shrieking Shack in PoA? Don't get me wrong, Alan Rickman is truly marvelous in these movies, but I remember feeling let down when he basically just breathed "give me a reason" at Gary Oldman. It's even more disapointing in retrospect, when you realize that Snape is addressing not only his childhood tormentor, but also the man who he believes is the only other person just as responsible for the death of his "true love" as he is. I'm not sure why this performance gave me the impression that he would not go off in HBP, but it did. When "Spinner's End" took a more subtle tone, it only fueled my belief, and so by the time we actually got to Dumbledore's death I was actually very excited to see Mr. Rickman's more pitiful version of the character. In fact, I really, really enjoyed the entirity of the Hill Scene, until that fatal line: "I AM the Half-Blood Prince!" Um...so? In the book, this is more of a slip, way more significant to the reader than Snape himself. It just seems like this huge anti-climax. It "broke the spell" for me, if you'll excuse the pun.
2)This is more of Wild Mass Guessing than a comment on the show, but-- maybe it won't be Fleur and Bill's wedding, but Lupin and Tonks'? Basically all they'd have to do is rework a few lines at the Death Eater meeting, you don't have to worry about the Burrow, and you've got a reason for them to crash the wedding besides "the ministry has fallen." Bellatrix would be an awesome gatecrasher.
Wow this is long. Keep up the good work, Vicki

Re: Episode 19
Oooo, I like the idea of switching the wedding to Lupin and Tonks. While I know the purists will be up in arms, it does a nice job of keeping the focus on characters that actually have been explored in the film.
Hehe, when you guys were talking about trying to avoid spoilers while reading HBP, it reminded me of when my best friend accidentally told me what happened. If it had been anyone else, I probably would have killed that person. As it was, I merely shrieked "WHAT?!" and then spent the rest of the book in denial.
Also, glad to hear that Dayna's kitty is better.

lol Great and hilarious episode!
Source on the image above the show notes?
Sadly, I don't have one. I pulled that off of Google Image Search (BAD FORM, KEVIN) and it didn't have a working link to the source page.
OH MY GOD PLEASE DO A REPO PODCAST!!!
*ahem* I'm kind of a new fan (Dayna turned me on to this com by commenting on my infamous TGWTG fanfic a while back) but I just wanted to say that I love these podcasts and you guys speak my language and you're all hilarious and awesome.
'Harry Potter and the Nerd Rage'
Best fake title EVER.
In light of the 'projector quitting' story ... I have a story of my own!
When I went to see GoF, they started 'Chicken Little' instead, because that's what was showing in that theater normally. I guess they forgot to CHANGE THE DAMN REEL, (idiots). About three minutes into the movie (after the previews and 'please throw our your trash' stuff, mind you, so, about fifteen minutes later) we all realized what had happened and starting yelling and booing. Chicken Little stopped. The lights came on. People talked and grumbled for about ten minutes. I felt slightly silly in my Crookshanks costume, being the only person in the theater who dressed up (well, except my friend, but she was wearing a school uniform and a long cloak, so she looked normal enough sitting down. I, however, was clad in neon orange fuzz). Then whoever was in the projector room must have woken up or gotten fired or been murdered by fans, and we got GoF as planned.
You should check out Merlin. It's ... interesting, to say the least. Funny, weird, great, and Evil King Giles! (And the Slash Dragon, but that's another story ...)
P.S. Alan Rickman can shatter MY underpants any day ...
P.P.S. The ending was MADE OF TOTAL WIN. Bother bother bother ... *sporfles*
